The company charity of choice for the past couple of years has been the MND association, who make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by MND (Motor Neurone Disease). This is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones which carry messages from the brain. Eventually, these messages gradually stop reaching muscles, leading to weakness and wasting.
MND’s fundraising campaign, bakeit! was back again this year, and here at LB Foster we held our own bake sales in support of raising awareness.
Dividing into teams for some inter-department competition, bake sales were held in both the LB Foster Materials Handling Leicester office and the LB Foster Rail Technologies (UK) Sheffield office.
LB Foster Materials Handling in Leicester also ran a raffle, with donated prizes including:
- Leicester City Football Club Stadium Tour for four people
- Two tickets to Leicester Race Course
- Meal for two at Chef and Spice in Leicester
In total, Leicester raised £263.76 and Sheffield raised £363.26, an impressive total of £627.02! A fantastic effort by all which will help to make a real difference to the families of those suffering from MND.
